Upon reaching the judging stand, the flag team tilted the flag to present it to the judges. The following presentation statement was read: "Elks Lodge 572 has been a part of the Murphysboro community for over 100 years, and we have many fond memories of our involvement in this town. In the Elks organization, the American flag is the symbol of charity. We remember not only what we have given, but what others have given for us. The American flag represents the memories of everything our country and its citizens have endured and achieved. With a deep sense of patriotism, we remember our veterans and all they have done for our country. To the Elks organization and its members, the American flag, with its radiant stripes and celestial stars, is our “bushel of memories.”"
